Review and Swatches: Infallible Eyeshadow by L'Oréal Paris ♥

Hey everyone!

There’s a new product by L'Oréal Paris called La Couleur Infallible eyeshadows. And I just LOVE them. After trying one, I had to have more so I ended up with nine! They are 3.5g each and are a velvety loose pigment in jars. These are really popular nowadays and they are available in over 20 different colours.

These are the colours I have:

If you have been reading reviews about these eye shadows you have probably already heard that they are very similar to the Giorgio Armani “High Voltage 24 Hour Eyes to Kill Shadows” and that is very true. The Armani Eyes to Kill shadows have a hybrid texture, which is not a powder, nor a cream. The Colour Infallible eyeshadows also have the same texture which feels and applies like a cream shadow but ends up into a powder shadow. However the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows are $32 and the L'Oréal Colour Infallible eyeshadows are around $10- $13 each, which is pretty much a third of the price of the Armani eyeshadows. Besides the better and more unique colours offered by the Eyes to Kill shadow line the only other difference would be that the Armani shadows have multiple colours mixed together and the Colour Infallible shadows are solid colours.

Although $10-$13 may not be cheap especially for drugstore makeup these Colour Infallible eyeshadows are really worth the price. They are great quality shadows and the finished look achieved is really nice. These eyeshadows work great applied with a brushes and even with your fingers, in my opinion I feel like my fingers give the best and nicest look. They look wonderful as an all over lid colour, a crease colour, an outer corner colour or even just as an eyeliner. You are also ensured to get good use out of them because they are very pigmented but buildable, you can tone it down for the day by using less and amp it up for the night by using more. These Colour Infallible eyeshadows can be incorporated in any look with other eye shadows as well. They blend great with other eyeshadows of different textures and brands and they also blend phenomenally with each other. They are definitely something that I would recommend trying out and adding to your makeup collection. For the most part they are all shimmery, satin, or glittery, out of the whole collection I think there are only 2 matte colours available.

Colour Infallible eyeshadows are also VERY long lasting but at the same time they are really easy to remove, using something as simple as olive oil can get the job done. To test out the wear strength, I wore the shade “All Night Blue” while working out and when I was done my eyeshadow looked perfect. They do claim to be water resistant and they are supposed to last through a shower, when water indirectly comes in contact with your eyelids the shadows do not move and the steam from the shower does not affect the eye makeup either. However they DO NOT last during an actual shower where water is directly falling on your face.  The shower caused the eyeshadows to fade drastically and my under eyes had a lot of glitter on them.

These eyeshadows are SUPER pigmented so a little goes a long way! They show up really nicely after just one swipe. They apply really smoothly just like their texture. The application itself can be a little trick like any other loose shadow because if you take too much there will be fallout. When applying the Colour Infallible eyeshadows you have to pat and sweep them on at the same time.

They claim to be able to last 24 hours I tested them for 7 hours and I really wished I had worn a primer! There was no creasing or moving, but they did fade. When you apply them start off with a primer and then build the colour on to ensure they will look their best the whole wear time.

Black Stopper
When you open each shadow up there is a black stopper to help preserve the wet feel of the shadow. You can also use the stopper to press down the shadows so it’s easier to pick up the product. The packaging itself is nice and sleek. The bottom has a silver circle which gives it a slight higher end makeup look. My favourite Colour Infallible eyeshadows are “Sahara Treasure” which is a beautiful and unique looking champagne bronze colour and “Purple Obsession” which is a vibrant satin purple colour.

L'Oréal Paris Colour Infallible eyeshadows are an overall great product and can be found in pretty much all drug stores ($12.49 at Shoppers Drugmart) as well as Wal-Mart and in Zellers. I really really like them, and definitely recommend them.
