Reviews and Swatches: NARS Dual-Intensity Blushes ♥

Hey, Fabulous!

NARS Dual-Intensity Blushes
So today I’m super excited to be reviewing the new NARS Dual Intensity Blushes. These are a brand new product from NARS and like their new foundation these blushes give a “second skin” finish. They retail for $52 CAD (before tax) each and they come in 6 different varieties, which have two shades apiece.

I’m not going to go too into detail about the packaging because it’s similar to all NARS products. They are clean and minimalistic with the rubbery “NARS material”- you know what I mean- all around. How it differs majorly from the original brushes is that the shape of the box is a square and they have a magnetic closure, unlike the rectangles that had a clasp. There is also a good sized mirror on the inside. Lastly like I mentioned before, the blushes have two colours each and are divided in different pans. This may not be a big deal to most people but this is in fact a great extra detail they took so the colours don’t harass each other.

Now lets move onto the “dual intensity-ness”. Pretty much these blushes are called “dual intensity” blushes because you can use them wet or dry. You can apply them dry for a healthy glow and wet for translucent, second-skin finish. NARS is known for their original blushes and it’s easy to pick up too much product even when slightly touching them. These new ones are nothing like that. In my experience, the Dual Intensity Blushes are almost made to be buildable. When you apply then with a blush brush you will first get a slight glow and natural coverage and you can customize the coverage onwards.

Because of the formula, I find that the best way to apply them is with a stiffer more textured brush so you can pick up the product well. And of course like with most NARS products, you could also use your fingers and work them into your cheeks. If you do choose to wear them wet I would recommend moistening your brush –I know this is common sense but do not use a soaking wet brush- or using a spray bottle to dampen the blushes directly–and don’t worry, they’ll go back to their original selves when they dry-. A great formula aspect to these blushes is that they’re the same as the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows so they also duo up as eyeshadows -duo… get it. Like “dual intensity”… okay I’ll stop now, haha no I wont-! The different shades work in different ways to enhance your complexion and you can pair the colours in each pop together to create different versatile effects and multi dimensional looks.

I of course got them all -no shame- and these are the lovely closeup and swatches of the blushes wet and dry. Enjoy!

xoxo
